As one of only four pediatric endocrinologists in Montana, Dr. Colleen Wood cares for children with endocrine disease in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota. Dr. Wood graduated from pediatric residency in 2008 at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Following a year as Chief Resident at the same institution, she moved to Billings, Montana as a general pediatrician at Billings Clinic for three years. During that time Dr. Wood cared for a large number of pediatric type 1 diabetic patients, and it became quickly apparent that the region was in need of local pediatric endocrine specialty care. Dr. Wood returned to Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes to complete a pediatric endocrine fellowship with the intent of returning to work at the Billings Clinic. For ten years she has worked as a clinician, instructor for medical students and residents, and investigator within the realm of diabetes and endocrinology for the region.
